Dhanusha- A total of 377 industries have been closed in Dhanusha district owing to various reasons in the last fiscal year 2023/24.
Among those defunct industries, 259 were classified under commerce category while 118 were under industries, informed Kishori Sharan Yadav, Chief of Cottage and Small Industries Office, Dhanusha district.
Around 9,000 people lost their jobs due to closure of those industries, shared Yadav. At present, 536 small scale industries and 551 micro enterprises and 1,058 cottage industries are operative in the district, informed Yadav.
According to him, these industries have directly provided employment to around 7,000 people. The Office collected over Rs 7.7 million in revenue from registration and renewal of those industries in the last fiscal year, he said.
