DHULIKHEL: The Kathmandu University Computer Club (KUCC) has announced IT Meet 2024, poised to be the nation’s largest technology and innovation event.
This event will span an entire month and culminate on December 6 and 7, 2024, at the Kathmandu University campus in Dhulikhel.
Guided by the theme “Refresh, Reimagine, and Innovate,” IT Meet 2024 aims to empower students, professionals, and tech enthusiasts by providing a platform for learning, collaboration, and groundbreaking innovation.
Building on Success
Following last year’s triumph, which attracted 10,000 attendees, including 2,000 participants in flagship events like the KU Hackfest, 500 treasure hunters, and 80 women in the EmpowerHer initiative, IT Meet 2024 promises even greater outreach and impact.
Fostering Technological Growth
Since 1997, KUCC has been a leader in advancing technological growth and education in Nepal. IT Meet 2024 continues this legacy with over 30 curated events to foster innovation, nurture talent, and create community engagement opportunities.
Diverse Activities
The event features challenging competitions such as the AI Competition, AR Treasure Hunt, Code Camp, and the Line-Following Robot Competition. Esports tournaments will include popular games like PUBG, Valorant, Dota 2, FIFA, and Clash Royale.
Knowledge Sharing Platforms
Attendees will benefit from TEDx Kathmandu University and panel discussions featuring industry leaders, exploring groundbreaking ideas and emerging trends. The KU Hackfest, an international 48-hour hackathon, will offer participants mentorship from industry experts to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
Hands-On Workshops and Career Development
Workshops on cybersecurity, geospatial technology, and hardware development will offer hands-on learning experiences. Additionally, the Career Fair and Mock Placements will connect students with top employers, preparing them for professional success.
Celebrating Creativity and Culture
IT Meet 2024 will celebrate the intersection of technology, creativity, and culture through events like Acoustic Night, a Photography Competition, and robotics demonstrations in Robo War and Robo Football. The Project Exhibition and Idea Pitching Competition will allow participants to showcase their entrepreneurial and technical skills.
Community Involvement and Empowerment
Collaborations with Panauti, Banepa, Dhulikhel, and Panchkhal municipalities will highlight local heritage and engage regional communities. Cybersecurity initiatives like We Shield Cyber, conducted in partnership with Rotaract Dhulikhel, will address critical issues such as online scams and media security. EmpowerHer programs will inspire and equip women in technology through motivational talks and skill-building workshops.
