2025 Ambassadorial Belt and Road Scholarship Results Announced

The Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, in collaboration with the Overseas Chinese Charity Foundation of China (OCCFC), has announced the results of the application for the Ambassadorial Belt and Road Scholarship.

The application period was from October 13 to 28. There is a provision for interested Nepali students pursuing higher education in China to apply, and a total of 144 applications were received.

The regular annual program has made the results public after evaluating the applicants. 12 winners have been selected from the total applicants through the joint efforts of the Nepali Embassy in Beijing and the Special Fund Management Committee of the Ambassadorial Scholarship Program.

The selection process will be based on excellent scores, current scholarship status from the Chinese government, gender, ties with Nepal’s backward and marginalized communities, extracurricular involvement, etc.

The first place winner of this program will be awarded a prize of Chinese Yuan 10,000 and 11 others will be awarded a prize of Chinese Yuan 5,000, according to the announcement issued by the organizers.

The first place winner is Chandan Kumar Sah, a resident of Madhesh Province in Nepal, while the second place winners are Bibhus Shrestha, a student at Yangzhou University, Mandeep Mani, a student at Kuilin Medical University, Prabin Bikram KC, a student at Hohai University, Nirag Basnet, a student at Wuhan University, Kosish Sharma, a student at Nanjing Aeronautics University, Anish Tiwari, a student at Beijing University, Achhyara Regmi, a student at Shanghai Jiaotong University, Sindhu Pandit, a student at Peihang University, Samata Bajracharya, a student at Beijing University, Sanket Yadav, a student at Sichuan University, and Sarita Sapkota, a student at Xiamen University. Among the winners, 2 are undergraduates, 3 are postgraduates, and 7 are undergraduates.

Last year, the results of this type of competitive program were awarded on June 5th at the premises of the Nepali Embassy in Beijing in collaboration with Tomorrow Technology Education Service Center in the presence of the then Ambassador Bishnu Pukar Shrestha.

Ten Nepali students studying for PhD/Master’s/Bachelor’s degrees at various universities in China were awarded Belt and Road Ambassador Scholarships. The winners are not allowed to apply for the program again.
