Bhaktapur: The preparations for the ‘Nagarkot Visit Year-2082’ have been completed. Four municipalities of Bhaktapur, Kathmandu and Kavrepalanchowk districts are jointly organizing the ‘Visit Nagarkot Year-2082’.
Changunarayan, Mandandeupur, Banepa and Shankharapur municipalities are organizing the Visit Year, aiming to attract 1.1 million tourists- domestic and foreign combined to Nagarkot, a hilltop town located in Bhaktapur district.
At a press conference organized by the Joint Secretariat of Nagarkot Visit Year-2082 with the coordination of Nagarkot Naldum Tourism Development Committee on Friday, coordinator of the main organizing committee and mayor of Mandandeupur municipality Tok Bahadur Waiba informed they were all set to welcome the tourists with all preparations in place.
He said that a model homestay was built in the village to ensure visitors rural foods and organic tastes. It is believed to extend tourists’ stay at Nagarkot. The local culture is an essential feature to make the visit year successful, according to him.
There would be over 50 stalls at Batase Danda on the opening day of the Visit Nepal Year, Baishakh 1 (April 14), the New Year. Similarly, food stalls, stalls of agricultural goods, and museum of Gurung community. Each local level will have unique presentation.
