Banke: Minister for Youth and Sports, Teju Lal Chaudhary, has expressed the belief that Lumbini Women’s Football Tournament would encourage players and help produce national players.
Inaugurating the International Invitational Lumbini Cup Women’s Football Tournament here Friday, Minister Chaudhary viewed, “There are talented players in the western belt of the country. They can create an identity in the nation and abroad if we provide adequate opportunity to them. This Tournament has disseminated a positive message.”
In the match held after the inauguration, Tribhuvan Army Club had entered the semi-final of the tournament.
During the first match held on knockout basis, Tribhuvan Army Club won the match against Sudurpaschim with 4-0.
With this victory, Tribhuvan Army Club secured its position in the semi-final. Total eight teams are participating in the tournament to be held till April 25.
The winner team will receive Rs 505,555 cash, trophy and medal while runner-up team Rs 250,000, trophy and medal.
