AFC Women’s Asian Cup: Nepal secures 8-0 victory over Sri Lanka

Kathmandu: Nepal made the second consecutive win today in AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers with hat trick of Captain of National Women Football Team, Sabitra Bhandari (Samba).

In the match held at Milliy Stadium located at Tashkent of Uzbekistan, Nepal made astounding 8-0 victory against Sri Lanka. 

With this victory, Nepal collected six points in two matches. Earlier, Nepal had defeated Laos with a 9-0 goal difference in the first match. 

Sambha scored a hat trick while Gita Rana made two goals, and Nisha Thokar, Rekha Poudel and Puja Rana scored one goal each for Nepal’s win. 

Nepal scored the first goal in seventh minute of the match, second in 20th minute, third in 42nd minute, fourth in additional time of first half,  fifth 53rd minute, sixth in 62nd minute, seventh in 78th minute and eighth goal in 89th minute. 

Nepal will be playing its group-wise final match with Uzbekistan on Saturday.
