Kavrepalanchok: Kathmandu University (KU) has started hosting the “AI Conclave–2026” (Artificial Intelligence Conference) from today at its Dhulikhel campus.
Organized by the Artificial Intelligence Club (KUAIC) under KU’s Department of Artificial Intelligence, the conclave is the second phase of the broader “AI Convergence–2026” initiative being conducted through the club.
According to the organizers, the AI Conclave is an upgraded and more refined version of the “AI Meet” programs held over the past two years. KUAIC President Ashim Shrestha said the main objective of the event is to bring together learning and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence on a single platform.
He added that the conference aims to raise public awareness about the practical applications of AI in sectors such as education, health, finance, governance, industry, and society, rather than limiting AI to research or generative tools alone.
Held under the theme “Bridging Intelligence and Innovation,” the conclave seeks to connect students, researchers, industry professionals, startups, policymakers, and the general public on a common platform. The AI Convergence–2026 program is being conducted in three phases.
The first phase, titled “AI Canvas,” included foundational learning activities such as AI basics, bootcamps, and webinars. The second phase, the AI Conclave, is being held from January 12 to 14 at KU’s central office.
As part of the conclave, a National-Level AI Summit is being held on Monday. Tuesday will feature project exhibitions, robotics competitions, e-games, tech talks, and an expo. On Wednesday, programs will include a panel discussion on “AI for Society,” the e-games finale, AI awareness activities, and discussions on AI policy, according to the organizers.
The organizers estimate that around 5,000 visitors will attend the three-day AI Conclave–2026.
