KATHMANDU— Rozina Pradhan Rai, Vice President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), has launched a new Himalayan Java coffee outlet in Lainchaur, Kathmandu, investing approximately NPR 50 million. The opening brings the total number of Himalayan Java outlets to 81, further establishing the brand as a symbol of Nepali coffee culture.
Speaking at the inauguration, Rai emphasized that Himalayan Java has successfully brought Nepali coffee to both national and international prominence. She outlined plans to expand the brand domestically and abroad, highlighting the unique combination of local investment, Nepali coffee, and modern entrepreneurship as the company’s core strength.
Himalayan Java traces its origins nearly two decades ago, starting at Tridevi Marg in Thamel with the mission of connecting high-quality Nepali coffee with modern café culture. Today, the brand operates across major Nepali cities and has earned recognition in international markets, sourcing premium coffee beans directly from local farmers.

The new outlet offers a wide range of coffee options, including espresso, Americano, cappuccino, café latte, mocha, cold brew, and single-origin Nepali coffee. The use of organically grown Nepali coffee beans ensures distinctive flavor and aroma, showcasing the potential of locally produced products on a global scale.
Rai’s entrepreneurial initiative not only strengthens Nepal’s café culture but also creates jobs, promotes domestic products, and elevates the global profile of Nepali brands. Her journey sends a strong message to Nepali youth: “Dream big, invest in your ideas, and work persistently. With dedication, you can put Nepali brands on the world map.”
The launch of this new Himalayan Java outlet is expected to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs, encouraging them to combine innovation, hard work, and national pride in their own ventures.
