Prof Dr Tiwari appointed Vice Chancellor of Gandaki University

Gandaki: Professor Dr Indra Prasad Tiwari has been appointed the Vice Chancellor of the Gandaki University. The vice chancellor selection committee had recommended three persons for the post. 

Later, Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pande appointed Dr Tiwari as the Vice Chancellor of the University.

The selection committee was headed by Prof Dr Kailash Nath Pyakurel having the members Kalpana Lamsal, member of Province Public Service Commission, and expert Dr Yamuna Ghale. 

Two others recommended by the committee were Prof Dr Bishwo Kalyan Parajuli and Prof Dr Saroj Koirala.

Tiwari, a resident of Pokhara Metropolitan City-31, had served as the Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Pokhara University. 

Gandaki University is the first provincial university of Nepal. It got the university recognition after the introduction of the Gandaki University Act in 2076BS.

Currently, the university is providing education of bachelor’s programmes on sport management, information technology, pharmacy, business administration, arts and law, and master’s programme on information technology-AI.
