Kathmandu: The Department of Drug Administration (DDA) has issued a directive seeking to withdraw two medicines promptly from the market.
It has sought the prompt taking away of drugs ‘Pilpan 40mg Tablet’ and ‘Stop 40mg’ from the market, citing they are proved to be substandard.
Both medicines are generally for reducing the amount of acid in stomach.
The DDA has urged one and all not to prescribe, supply and use these medicines. The sample tests of the drugs in the National Medicine Laboratory indicated that drugs failed to meet the set standard.
It has sought the prompt suspension of the supplies of medicines and withdrawal from the market as per the Clause 14 of the Drugs Act, 2035 BS (1978). The Clause is about the return of drug which is not safe for public consumption.
