NEPSE index drops by 18 points with transaction of Rs 26.5 billion

Kathmandu: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has seen a double-digit decline, with the transaction amount surpassing Rs 26.5 billion. The NEPSE index decreased by 18.44 points, settling at 2,964.20. Today, a total of 50.86 million shares of 323 companies were traded 203,658 times.

Today’s trading amount is the highest in nearly 11 months. The shares of the development bank group increased by 1.23 per cent, production and processing group by 0.08 per cent, mutual funds by 0.39 per cent, and trade group by 1.44 per cent, while the indicators of all other groups have decreased. The shares of the banking sector decreased by 0.71 per cent, finance by 1.99 per cent, hotels and tourism by 1.79 per cent, hydropower by 0.09 per cent, investment by 1.66 per cent, life insurance by 1.35 per cent, non-life insurance group by 0.67 per cent, and other groups by 0.86 per cent.

In today’s trading, the shares of Samata Microfinance Financial Institution Limited and Trade Tower Limited have experienced a positive circuit. The stock price of Narayani Development Bank Limited has decreased the most, by 6.34 percent. In terms of transaction amount, the highest trading today has been of Shivam Cement Limited, amounting to Rs 1.20 billion.
