Finance Minister Khanal and Madhes Province Chief Minister Yadav meet

Janakpur:Finance Minister Rameshore Prasad Khanal engaged in discussions with Madhes Province Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav. 

In the meeting held today at Madhes Bhawan in Janakpurdham, Chief Minister Yadav urged Finance Minister Khanal to enhance the federal government’s grant allocation to Madhes Province. 

He pointed out that the increase in grant funding is necessary due to the poor human development indicators in the region. During the meeting, Finance Minister Khanal was informed that the federal government had failed to deliver the financial support it had committed for the MBBS programme operated by the Madhes Academy of Health Sciences. 

The MBBS programme has been facing an annual cost of 200 million rupees. Finance Minister Khanal assured that the federal government is committed to addressing the province government’s issues related to economic growth and the overall prosperity of Madhes Province. (RSS)
