Kathmandu-Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava paid a courtesy call on Minister for Health and Population Dr Sudha Gautam at the latter’s office on Friday. 

Issues of making bilateral partnership in the health sector further sustainable and effective were discussed during the meeting, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Prakash Budhathoki shared.  

On the occasion, Minister Dr Gautam highlighted the close relations between Nepal and India, and extended India’s continued support to Nepal’s health sector.

Dr Gautam shared that the key priorities of the Ministry include maternal and infant health, mental health, health insurance, capacity enhancement of the national drugs laboratory and health care of Nepali migrant workers abroad.

In response, the Indian Ambassador expressed the commitment to support the building construction for the upgradation of the national drugs laboratory, provide equipment, and train the human resources. (RSS)
