New committee formed with vice presidents, secretary, and treasurer; focus on promoting dodgeball in the district
Kavrepalanchok – The first general assembly of the Kavre District Dodgeball Association was successfully held recently, marking a key milestone in the promotion of the sport in the region. Ramchandra Deuja was elected as the association’s president during the event.
Alongside him, the new executive committee includes Senior Vice President Suvin Manandhar, Vice Presidents Uttam Sapkota and Pritam Gangai, Secretary Om Krishna Shrestha, Deputy Secretary Sajan Ghimire, Treasurer Vijay Musyaju, Deputy Treasurer Khem Thapa, and committee members Dipendra Bisht, Madan Dhungana, Milan Acharya, Swejal Shrestha, Netra Badal, Janak Tamang, and Dipa Bishta.
The program was attended by Mayor of the Banepa Municipality, Shanti Ratna Shakya, as the chief guest, and Manveer Waiba, Chairman of the Kavre District Sports Development Committee, as the special guest.
During the event, Mahendra Bista, President of the Bagmati Province Dodgeball Association, highlighted the importance of teaching students dodgeball, similar to football and volleyball, to promote physical activity and teamwork.
Shyam Bahadur Bhujel, President of PABSON Kavre, recalled that dodgeball was virtually unknown when they began and pledged his support to help the sport develop in the district.
Rajan Adhikari, Secretary of the Kavrepalanchok District Savings and Credit Cooperative Union Ltd., emphasized the importance of sports and the need to raise awareness about dodgeball, which is still in its early stages of development in Nepal.
The assembly was chaired by acting president Ramchandra Deuja, who outlined plans for expanding dodgeball tournaments, training programs, and promotional activities to strengthen the sport at the district level.
